This 2 kWh battery pack has been shown on eFIXX,
It is expensive, but it is also portable, it seems it can export 800 watt to the grid, but I know my home only has a bidirectional RCBO on one of my 14 RCBO's so only the sockets in my shed could be used.

As to G98 etc, well if one already has solar panels, then one would already have the export MPAN number, so who would know you're using an extra battery?

No, I am not thinking of getting one, the batteries designed for my system are around the same price per kWh storage so no point, I can add another 2 batteries if a wish at 3.2 kWh each, but it must be tempting for someone who has not got an inverter which can link up to batteries.

What does the team think?

There is clearly the risk that such a device will increase the time from a fault being detected by a RCD to the power being shut down. Particularly in the case of single pole RCBOs. Double pole RCDs/RCBOs mitigate this somewhat but ideally an inverter would not be on the same RCD as any high-risk loads.

OTOH this risk isn't unique to inverters, a large motor could have a similar or even worse effect.
