Hi there,

have just bought one of the above it has 3 terminals inside L1 L2 and com how do I connect my Red wire my Black wire and what do i do with the third wire which I believe is earth? There is what looks to be an earthing point in the part that ive fitted to the ceiling but as switch all plastic do I need to use it?

Thanks

Red to COM
Black to L1 (you should have, or put a red sleeve or tape on this black wire).

The earth conductor should be sleeved in green&yellow earth sleeving and terminated in the earth terminal in the bit in the ceiling.

Simples!

Interesting

I have the impression that it is a pull-cord switch.

Maybe the Fishdockroad can confirm what sort of switch it is.............

On further investigation of post, you could well be correct.
Indeed - I think the clue is in the title of the thread :-)
But I cannot remember in recent times, buying pull cord switch without the facility for the CPC!
The OP did say that there is "...what looks like an earthing point in the part that ive fitted to the ceiling" - which I imagine will be adequate for the purpose.

Kind Regards, John
