got power going into L1 but nothing come out at L2 thru the neutral. cant figure out why. all wiring in correct places as regards light and junction box.

1) It's not a neutral, it's a switched live.

2) 2-way switching needs more than two conductors at the switches.

3) If your switch has COM/L1/L2 and not L1/L2/L3 then there will never be a connection between L1 and L2.

Do you know how light switches work?

Do you know how 2-way switching works?

Have you looked at the diagrams in the Wiki and For Reference topics?

What switches did you have before, what are you trying to change, and what have you done so far?

was one switch one light, changed to two switches, its wired up exactly like diagram in wiki. c.u. trips out when switch is pressed.

If it was wired up exactly like the diagram in the Wiki there would be no tripping.... :?

What trips, BTW - MCB or RCD?

What happens when you disconnect all the strappers going to the new 2nd switch?

mcb trips when light switch is flicked. could there be a problem with the supply?

No - the problem is that you've made a mistake.

But as you think you've done it OK, and even though you've checked and compared you think that it looks just like the diagrams in the Wiki, finding out what you've done wrong could be tricky...

Forget the new 2nd switch for a while - before you started what cables did you have at the existing switch, and what changes did you make?
