2007 Nissan Qashai 2.1 petrol 66 k miles.

A few days ago my engine management light came on. But with no other indications or signs of any malfunction.

I have a cheaper OBD2 indicator and went and got it and plugged it in.

It came up with an indication of DTC Fault 02.

Unfortunately nothing I can find on the internet indicates what might be causing this light on or fault code>

Any ideas?

DTC 02 would suggest low battery voltage. Unless you have an old battery you may need to check that the alternator is charging correctly. From your profile pic you may have access to test equipment for this.

I have solved the diagnostic problem.

It seems the DTC Fault 02 is generated to give an initial indication that there are some faults.

Scrolling down however I discovered two other fault codes PO139 and P1147 that both relate to the oxygen sensors at the back of the cat.

For the moment I have cancelled the warnings and will see if they reoccur.

In the meantime I will see what measurements are possible on the sensors.
