24cdi

Well, that's cured me from wanting to work on these piles of cr*p. first one I've done and took me just on 2 hrs, I was being careful though. As for you namsag to do one of these without taking anything else out you must be a gynacologist.

special flexible rachet screwdriver socket set but as i said sooey never again, really stupid idea :?

It helps if you have a ratchet spanner or similar to use with a 1/4" bit.

But it still leaves the sliding joint which can only be moved by strainign it.

Its a very badly designed boiler. But then the makers only want it to last out the warranty!

Thats why I like the Heatline, simople and all very easy to work on!

Would disagree that worcester only make them to last just out the warranty as most diaphragms last at least 6/7 years. But agree its not the best designed boiler and parts are very expensive

nd parts are very expensive
Sure, unless you're used to alpha, or halstead, or a few others!

I've got a dead cdi in my lockup. Choice for Xmas day - try changing a diaphragm alone, to see how it goes, or go visit the family. No contest, as long as I can find a Thermos.

I'll say, 8 quid for a little bag of O rings, and a bugger to work on. Also nobody round here has any heat exchanger seals or special cleaning brushes for these. It's obvious that worcester don't want people other than themselves working on their boilers. Fair enough, but if that's the case I for one won't be fitting the fhem either.

I was thinking of the board that is around £150 with the little added bit into fault finding guide ,That it may not be this and could be the transformer that fits into it...

Isnt that the Junior with the transformer that fits into it?

The 24cdi has an on board transformer and the 35cdi has one on the chassis. Edit after inspection of our spares stock!

Generally the Worcester spares are not that badly priced when compared with similar models.

However I still maintain that accessibility for maintenance is an important aspect of good design ! Worcester comes off very badly compared with the humble Heatline ( Now owned by vaillant! ).

24 CDi has transformer on board but it does not come with it and plugs into it

I must be thinking of the 24i or 240 then.

So which one does Control Board 232 fit then? ( Thats GC E01 604 )
