26" Philips LCD no remote

Hi all

Any modern TV engineers out there, I'm long since retired and only really understand things with valves.

A friend has this TV about three years old and gets no response from the remote or the buttons on the set, the remote itself is OK, well it shows a light on my IR sensor card. The electronics seem to have crashed. any suggestions?

What's the Model no and chassis? On the white sticker on the back.
Something like **PFL****D/05 and LC7.1E AA FOR EXAMPLE.
