28mm Pump gate valve. Which type is better/best...

Second choice for me, ball type tend to leak if not turned off for a while,
 
Second choice for me too :)

Ball versions are useless. Mucky water plus tight fitting ball twist valve is a leak waiting to happen, only takes a little dirt to become trapped.
