I have a 2D 4 pin light fitting. When I originally purchased the light it was fitted with a 28W 4 pin lamp. The lamp has blown and I want to replace it with a 38w 4 pin lamp. My question is will there be a problem fitting the 38w lamp considering the original was 28w.

The lamp may not strike or may have a shortened life !
The fitting will likely have a manufacturer's recommended load size, follow that.
