Why should any civilian murdered by civilians get some kind of state funeral, when those killed in conflict don't?
:?

And there I thought the media portrayed Lee Rigby as a "serving soldier" How gullible I was to believe the press ehh.

He was not killed in combat or a war zone, he was murdered on a London Street, whilst wearing civilain clothes, many people are murdered on London Streets.

Why didnt the other 444 British Troops that have died in the conflict Zone in Afghanstan also get State Funerals.

Not many people (if any) are killed on London streets in such a manner. This was nothing short of a public execution , designed to shock. Sadly some on here don't possess any amount of human empathy, which I find quite disgusting. Read through some threads on here and we have (seemingly) Muslim sympathisers, we have some who assume Madeline McCann's parents killed her, we have (thinly disguised) racist people, we have people who would insult the most innocent humans and we have those who make thinly disguised threats.
What a forum ehh. I do hope the owners and Admin are proud of the beast they have created here. I also sincerely hope that GCHQ keep tabs on some of the threads on here.

He was not in uniform as you say but was singled out because he had a help for hero,s tshirt on.. they knew he was a soldier ... he was representing the armed forces and fought in Afghanistan, I also say a little prayer when you hear any of our boys have been killed We are all entitled to our opinions and have the freedom of speech because our forfathers fought for it..........myself..... I have nothing but massive respect for each and every one of them

He was singled out because he was wearing a HFH shirt, anyone can wear these shirts, it was assumed he was a Soldier (unless he had been stalked previously in Uniform), would public sympathy have been the same if he was a civilian worker in the Barracks

I just feel the Public outcry on this particular case has masked the fact that 444 British Troops have died in the war Zone, many in the most horrific of circumstances, and that 2130 Troops have been wounded in combat and are now disabled

I have respect for all of them and I feel the Public should show the same, not just to one particular case.

I too have respect for people in the armed forces, but we do show that respect on the 11th of November.

Reading through some of the negative comments on here about OUR armed forces, you realise why this country is f**ked and why we're in the state that we are in. Certain people think it wrong to have pride in the armed forces, and honour the fallen ones. You can only conclude that the negative comments about the armed services are from those who are from a long line of bed-wetting conchies.

Drummer Rigby was a young man who was also a serving soldier. He was targetted and murdered by alien savages in a barbaric and cowardly way. He was killed in a war that started on 9/11 and is still going on, through 7/7 and more recently the Boston marathon bombings. The enemy is amongst us, let in by stupid politicians and now fed, clothed and educated by the British taxpayers. The war will never end, and it is only because of a constant, massive covert security operation here and in other countries, that there have not been more atrocities.

For those that just see our troops as 'cannon fodder', I am thinking of starting a new charity, called Help For Zeroes. Anyone who would like to donate can help fund spinal implants for these unfortunate individuals.

He was murdered, he didn't die at the hands of the enemy in combat. David Cameron told me so. It wasn't those pesky muslim fundamentalists. Boris told me so. He was a civilian murdered by a civilian.

Hmm. Yes, understandably the politicians will want to play it down. The first casualty in war is always the truth.

They could also benefit from backbone transplants.

Do you think any of our soldiers who have died since the end of world war two have died to preserve our liberty?

Taking away the context of the rest of the thread, this is a spot on comment.

There hasnt been a clear goodies vs baddies set to since ww2. Even in Yugoslavia they were both as bad as each other and we just picked a side. Falklands possibly but a lot of political capital was generated by that and got us 8 more years of Thatcher.

Wars are fought for geopolitics and resources now.

I dont think the politicans want to play it down,
Has David Cameron or Boris Johnson attended the funerals of the other 444 soldiers that have been killed in this war, or any of the victims that have been murdered on London Streets.

Lee Rigbys murder is being used for political gain nothing else
