If you've disconnected it without making a note, what chance have we of knowing where they go?

You will find that 1 of each colour is part of 1 cable, ie there are 2 twin cables at your switch box, you need to confirm which red and black are together and put the red and black from each cable to each switch as follows, the red goes to the sqigle and the black goes to the 1, follow this for both switches and let there be light!
