3 port mid valve query, may not be a normal one.

Hi

just moved into my house and have tried to put the hot water on. the boiler fires up, the port switch makes a noise and we get hot water, we also get heat in the radiators.

when i took the motor off it rattled like the inside was smashed so i am assuming it is broken. i tried turning the valve manually and it is very very stiff. so i think this is humped too.

now the bit i dont understand.

when we turn the hot water on the central heating pump was on too and when i turn the water off and the heating on the pump stops and the thermostat light flashes.
here is the thermostat and the heating/hot water box.

any ideas?

Pump should run with either hw or ch .

(assuming u do not have 2 pumps ??? )

stat & prog are BG badged drayton

The heating will come on after approx 15 minutes, the stat is intended to save money.
Or just push the save button and it will fire up straight away.
