Hi guys
When we turn up the room thermostat the boiler does not ignite straight away, in can take upto 5-10 mins to ignite. Last night I checked the 3 port valve just after turning up the room thermostat and it was making quite a loud grating noise and the lever was moving very slowly. Could this be why the boiler is taking 5-10 mins to ignite once we call for heat? Does the boiler ignite upon a signal from the room thermostat or when the 3 port valve lever has moved to the correct position?
We have CH/HW cover but want to know if we have a definate fault before making a service call otherwise we would get charged if an engineer comes and the system is working as it should.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
