Just to clarify: is it ok to have the live feed and switch live in the intermediate switch?
Looking at this scheme in the picture, is it ok to connect in the intermediate switch the permanent live feed to the left L2 (yellow wire in the picture) and the switch live to the right L2 (blue wire in the picture)?
Always thought it doesn't make any difference but my friend has been told that he needs to rewire this light at a major cost when in fact I think the problem is something else (light doesn't work anymore although it worked for a number of years.
Thanks

Assuming you have that systemof 2 way switching, it's perfectly ok to add the T&E red and black (or now brown & blue) at any point.
Is this being questioned after making any changes, like new switches?

No, the 3 switches have been there for ages.
Then the light stopped working and after checking the obvious blown bulb and mcb on at consumer unit, my friend called an electrician who said the 3 switches are wired wrongly because the live feed and switch live should not be on the intermediate switch but on one of the other switch.
He couldn't/wouldn't explain why it worked for many years.
I bet there's a disconnected cable somewhere or one of the switches is faulty.

Very easy to test.

Apparently not.
Done.
Somehow the live feed on the intermediate switch was disconnected and the screw loose.
All working fine again.
Good thing I put he mcb down yesterday.
The electrician is qualified accordingly to him.
I think he wanted to screw an old man and making up rubbish to turn a small job into a big job.
I'm tempted to call him and tell him off.

i dont suppose he would care much
have a look and see if you can review the business anywhere , like google business
or checkatrade , type things
who are now guarantee work i saw on tv
Hmpffff.
Somehow I'm on checkatrade as a 'white goods engineer' and I even have feedback...

I've been trying to get it removed for years and thought it was at one point...

Yeah I really believe that rubbish.

Similar happened on Linked-in, started receiving invitations and eventually with their help managed to hack into my account.
