I've been quite badly flooded at home and need to put some 300mm drain pipe in to prevent a reoccurrence, I've looked for prices but it seems very expensive, ~£80 / 6 metres, can anyone suggest where I can get it for a reasonable price?

12" pipe is some serious piping, you can usually serve the sewerage of several houses with only half that.

Why do you need a pipe that large? Is there an accompanying design which has specified this?

Couple of 110mm soil pipes. Drill holes in, or cut lots of slots in it. Add pea shingle+membrane.

If your house is in a flood plain then you are right too consider oversize pipes. However this is usually limited to the storm drain installations to get the water away and is only going to be beneficial where it is part of a much larger scheme as the mains it gets connected to also need to be oversized for the occasional flood waters.

Depending on the severity of the flooding you get even your land drain my be of little benefit. Certainly where starting a land drain you would normally start with the pipe size Deluks advised.
