35% of asylum seekers are gay.. or not

A lot of these countries that the asylum seekers come from being gay is a serious issue could get bumped off

Yes, but how is that specifically the UK's problem?

There are millions of people in this situation.

By taking the people that their government perceive to be a problem, we encourage prejudice by making their anti-gay policies successful. They need to stay and fight for their rights, as British gays did in the past here.

I agree

Whoever it was, I doubt they'd have done anything if all the gays had buggered off to another country to avoid prosecution. Being gay would have remained illegal.

This was all within living memory, we've just advanced a little faster than some other countries.

You have to be joking?

This country had been around for over a thousand years, and is only now dragging itself into modernity years after others got there.
Call it inertia.

That's likely why our history and steadfastness is both a blessing and a curse.

Depends what you call modernity. Some things that some think are advancements are more likely things we'll eventually reverse away from. E.g. toxic, racist DEI policies.

Sometimes caution is a good thing. Let others make the mistakes, we can learn from them at no cost to us.

The opposite of that attitude created " an empire on which the sun never sets".

You hanker for a return to a past, a past that those far braver than you created.

You want the rewards, but not the sacrifice.

And you wonder why this country is knackered?
