3way mid position value

In order to get hot water i have to have the heating on. I have located the 3way mid position value (acl lifestyle 679H340-30L0). It has symbols for h, m, w (Water
Mid pos, Heating) and a black lever on the side. Is there anything I can try before replacing, if not is is poss to switch to hot water only whilst I get it fixed?

Its currently set to M - should this move as I set it using the controller?

if you turn your heating off and only calling for hw it should be on w

turn off demand for both heating and water at programmer, then turn off electric supply to heating system. 3 port valve should now move to 'w', if it doesn't then valve will need replacing, now reinstate supply then turn h/w on at programmer should fire boiler.

No matter if i turn off, set to water only or heating - its in the m position. it does make a low click sound but doesnt move

you can seperate the plastic actuator from the brass valve.
their is a black button on the side push it in and the top will come off.
then see if you can move the brass spindle.
sounds like it has seized.
