4 gang to 2x2

Hello. I want to have these, see picture, light switch covers. They may work on the 2x2 spaced switch you show but I would hate to purchase them and then find that the space between the switch pairs is not enough. I am fine with having separate back boxes and 2 gang switches. Thanks for your continued enthusiasm to help.

There is indeed 1 feed, which can be seen by the four "links" of wire. You can get 4 way dollys. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=4...sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=4+gang+dolly+switch&tbm=shop

Perhaps best to choose a manufacturer that does do them.

If you use a 4 gang switch, make sure it is suitable for a plasterdepth box.

If you use the 2G one you post a photo to, if they have oversized plates, make sure you distance the boxes far enough apart so they fit.

A box spacer will not work with oversized plates.

The photo shows a switch cover. It fits over a standard size 2 gang switch, (also available for 1 gang switches). The toggle switch operates the rocker switch on the "real" switch underneath.

Sounds like a prone to things going wrong idea. Why not just buy "antique brass" switches?

The bulbous fluted design of these switch covers is what I am looking for and the price is right. Basic white switches with these covers gives me the most cost effective solution for the look I want to achieve. Why should anything go wrong if I have been given the correct information regarding how to connect the switch wiring ?

Because it's a clanky mechanical kludge that is almost begging to go wrong.

No designer who ought not to be in prison for fraud would ever design a product from scratch which worked like that.
