Hi
Can anyone help?
I am moving into a house (hopefully soon) and the central heating has been drained because of a leak and the house being vacant.
I think it is an open system I know there is a Hot water tank and a 2 water tanks in the attic - the smaller is the expansion tank I presume.
I got a quote from a local plumber to re-commission the system and for boiler replacement - the last report says the boiler is in poor condition.
He said I could convert to a combi with "instantaneous hot water" but the price depended on ease of converion and if I had 2 or 4 pipes coming out of the hot water tank.
Any advice on what he might mean and what are the pros and cons of changing to a combi?
The existing boiler is ancient and there is an electric immersion fitted also.
Thanks
G.
