I need to put in a right angle bend for the pipe coming down from the basin and heading to the 110mm pipe.
Which one of these should I be using?

I read somewhere that the sweeping bend is preferable but would appreciate your advice.
Thanks in advance.

Is the 90 degree more prone to blockages or anything like that?
Thanks for repeatedly coming to my rescue @denso13. Much appreciated.

If it's a basin then it would normally be a 32mm fitting not 40mm - just in case - ;)

I would always prefer to use swept bends rather than elbows. I find all sorts of 'stuff' gets dropped into basins and invariably when the waste and pipework gets glued up with soap scum and gunge then that can then cause problems. I have found swept bends will allow a snake etc to be run past it easier than a bend will. I have also found that they reduce drainage noise as swept bends won't create as much turbulence/resistance.

Best procedure though is good maintenance.

I've gone with 40mm waste but can reduce down to 32mm when it comes to the basin wate fitting. I went with the swept bend in the end. Thanks
