Hello All

I want to replace a lead waste Pipe with 40mm plastic because it has leaked and caused downstairs celing to fall down - Ooops.

The lead is connected to cast iron below the bathroom floor. I could probably push the plastic waste at least 2' into the cast iron pipe if necessary.

Is there any fitting available to do this or should I just pack round the plastic pipe with hemp and plumbers mate?

Help appreciated as I can't afford a plumber just know as I have already shelled out for a new kitchen this month! And the lack of a bath/shower until I can get it sorted is a little inconvenient not to mention stinkin.

You could try using Denso tape temporary, see this or pop down to builder/plumbing merchants for a large range type of fittings
