just a little knowledge about a wheelchair charger please, i want to purchase one off eBay and it has a XLR connection 3 wire if there is a negative and positive what is the 3rd wire ?

Could be many things. Could be a thermocouple pickup. Could be a safety earth. Could be a 'yes the charger is connected to a load' trigger line. Could be a DFA. Could be a centre tap (so you are charging 24-0-24 rather than 0-48). Read the suppliers spec or read the wheelchair spec.

DFA?

Could be connected to nothing, with a 3-pin XLR used purely to ensure correct polarity.

Also ensure the charger is from a reputable source and of reasonable quality.
I bet eBay is awash with ones which are neither.

DFA is commonly used in the entertainment industry when promoter or customer complains to FOH or anyone else with a radio about something. Person on radio will (if it is a bullsh*t complaint) tell the (usually sound) engineer to 'drop the DFA a couple of notches on xxxxx'. Engineer does f all of course :), punter wanders off happy.
