In the process of changing the boiler control thermostat on a 499k Mx.. anyone any suggestions on how on earth the phials should be removed from the pocket as Rayburn seem to have managed to get 3 phials temp, overrun and overheat into a hole smaller than the phials

Thanks.. have that..

Finally replaced them but quick follow up.. do they need to be deep back into the pocket.. seems to require real force to get them in. I'm left with a 5mm sticking out, yet before they were fully inside

Clean the heat conductive grease from the phials and pockets and try again.

Ok all sorted.. apart from one new prob now.. boiler only fires for 3 mins before switching off.. not a lock out just switches off.. yet water is not hot from taps.. water is hot around pump and a new pump has been fitted. (Sealed system)

Pressure rises to 2 bar when firing.. After 20mins or so boiler fires again rinse and repeat but it's not really heating the water in the tank. Could it be a faulty valve switch.
