Hello All,
I have just been informed by another domestic installer that a 4mm2 A2 radial circuit is the way forward when wiring kitchen power circuits. Can somebody just clarify the fact that an individual 32a A1 ring is still acceptable. ( not too worried about in depth reply's about freezers being on an individual circ etc, just want to check that I am not missing something ) As a rule i usually wire the kitchen on it's own ring.
Thanks for your time.

Radials are easier to test and harder to bugger up, but given the relative cost of 4 sq mm T & E there's no cost justification. A future DIY-er, however, is highly likely to branch off a 4 sq mm radial with 2.5 sq mm cable.

A separate kitchen ring is always a good idea if practicable.

Careful of your installation method when using 4mm² on 32A breaker, its not like there is a big margin and you can chuck it in without thinking...

I use 4mm radials when supplying a few sockets - usually in high demand commercial apps. 2 sockets per socket. Would be odd to ring these!
