Hi,

I have just turned the combie central heating on to find that after about 5mins I get a lockout light. It supplies 6 rads with 4 currently on but it never seems to last very long before the lockout. Is there anything I can try to resolve this myself? Things that could factor in this problem are:-

- A couple of times already I have had to top up the filling loop to get the the required 1.8 bar pressure level. I don't think I have a leak but maybe I have an air bubble. Is it worth draining down the rads?

- Over the past 18 months I have replaced one rad (closest to boiler) and removed one for decorating. Each time I have put the lockshield back in a central position. Could a restricted return flow affect things?

Any suggestions appreciated - I am at pains to callout an engineer as from previous experience I am not certain they always know what they are doing

cheers

adam

bump. if anyone does have any ideas I'd much appreciate a post thx

sounds to me like your diverter valve is kaput

they use a wax capsule in this boiler and if dont do its thing and allow the water to the rads then the boiler will lock out kwikly due to overheating

Get some out who has been recommended to you sorry
