Hi ,

we are reusing the existing foundations and (uninsulated) slab from our conservatory for a new extension.

Removing the existing tiles and screed gives us 8cm to the desired final floor level. Architect has specified “50mm kingspan kooltherm k103 then Continal ufh of either TileFix-18 or TileFix-25 (if needed to make up thickness) or Thermodeck-18. Then thin coat levelling screed prepared for Luxury Vinyl Tile finish”.

The continal data sheet says “typically installed over existing solid or timber deck floors”.

Having experience of ufh I am trying to sense check this - Can the 50mm kingspan over the slab be considered a stable floor the purposes of the continal system?
