Not being silly, talking about UPS or Jump start units, mine the tyre pump has died and the battery (12 volt 12 Ah) is about had it, it was my late father-in-laws, and has been very handy over the years for many things, from the torch when having a BBQ, to small 230 volt items (300 watt max) and blowing up tyres, even when the built in pump had failed, powered a 12 volt cig lighter type from it.

Have used to jump start, but not much. So today things have moved on, they no longer seem to be VRLA, (valve regulated lead acid) and I see these

which as you can see vary a lot in output, storage, and how they work. 100 watt seems a bit too low, and 1500 watt at £700 seems rather expensive. My old one was more this style

and I see some super cheap versions

at £9.49 I would not expect much from it. But at 20 Ah it is bigger than my old one, and cheaper than getting a replacement battery. My existing UPS only does central heating and freezers, we have rechargeable torches, did think about including the lights on the UPS, but our living room lights are a chandelier with 8 x 6 watt lights, yes want that much light normally, but with a power cut, want it to last out.

Be it used for camping, emergency, or blowing up tyres, the box of electric has been useful. So looking at what others use, and how they have found them, I do want a cig lighter 12 volt outlet, to blow up bike tyres, but after that not sure. Did look at a inverter generator, but times used too few to be worth the price I think.

If it will charge from 13 amp socket, then as long as I have solar, it can be recharged, and big means heavy, so just some thing to replace the old jump start pack, which to be frank, rarely used to jump start anything.
