When working out floor area of a room for purge calculations as per Part F, does this include areas of floor space taken up by cupboards etc?
Regarding cavity walls, I'm putting a window in an end wall during construction and it will have a catnic type lintel above it. I am looking at the cougar ones with built in DPC, the question is, do I need a cavity tray as well with weep holes? BCO is asking about this one but is not too concerned about the ones along the sides (presumably because they are at eaves level)
30 minute fire resistance (incl insulation integrity and load bearing capacity) for proposed steel beam
Anyone tell me what it means? I know I have to achieve at least 30 minutes of fire resistance but what does the rest mean and how do i achieve it? I assume box it in with noggings on the beam and use plasterboard and / or fireboard? This will be in relation to a 3200mm long steel ub supporting a roof following the removal of a wall (BC are aware!)wb1627
