Hi,
I have a IDEAL 80 or 95ff boiler, it keeps turning itself off and a red light keeps coming on, also the pressure is on about one every time i turn the penny valve and bring it back up to say 3 it slowly goes back down.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated Geordie

The red light is a flame failure.

You need a competent CORGI to identify the cause of that in your case.

Set the pressure to 1.5 Bar.

I've had lots of these with this fault description, in my case each has been the ignition pcb.

Unfortunately you have been told wrong  When cold pressure should be just over 1 Bar and when rads are hot this should rise to about 2 Bar.

If you set to 3 then when the rads heat up the prv will open and let the water escape as it is set to open at about 3 Bar
