A stupid cable type question?

Been a while since I’ve done any sockets or lighting work but I have a few types of 6242Y prysmian cable from screwfix and I’m getting myself a bit confused...

The cables have the following written on

2.0 x 1.0 + 1.0
3.0 x 1.0 + 1.0
Or
2.0 x 2.5 + 1.5

Can’t quite recall how to interpret this? Am I right I’m saying the 2.0 x 2.5 + 1.5 is the twin and earth I need for sockets?

Can anyone remind me about the others?

Twin and Earth 1mm usually for lighting
Triple and Earth 1mm usually for strappers in 2 way lighting or Timer extract fans

Twin and Earth 2.5mm typically has 1.5mm Earth, usually used for 20amp Radial socket circuits or 32amp Ring circuits

Thanks rocky so the latter will be fine for daisy chaining a double socket in?

The Regs basically say you can only spur one socket from an existing socket.
So in most cases you need to assess if the "Doner" socket is on a Ring first
So may be best to post a sketch of what you intend and the Mcb rating for the circuit you plan to extend.
As for the cable then the 2.5 is likely to be ok

Thanks Rocky so I've a double socket on the downstairs mains ring with 2 live, neutral, earth in the back of it. Looking to add 1 double socket through a couple of sheets of plasterboard and along the wall a bit - with this socket being the closest. Don't believe based on that it is spur'd already?

is this a recently wired house by a qualified electrician?
are the sockets on a 32A or a 20A circuit breaker in the consumer unit?
If it's on a 32A and hasn't been recently wired, it could be a botch up that you might end up making worse. But if it's already in good condition you'd be able to spur there. If it's not a ring but a 20A or lower radial you could add the socket wherever you like, although you'd have to keep in mind you want to avoid making a circuit that's likely to be overloaded.

The switch on the consumer unit for the sockets you are referring to, it should say either b32 or b20 on it. If you're not sure then post a photo of the consumer unit.
However assuming you're the first occupier and the wiring hasn't been changed at all i think you'll be ok.
