A train comes down Snowdon, but does a train go up Snowdon?

Wrong person, not eric.
Whoops. Yeah, it was FMT. Sorry Eric.

Right, back on topic. We have a similar train near us, known locally as the push pull train. It's on a single track and it goes from Upminster to Romford, stopping at Emerson Park halt in the middle. It then returns. I’m pretty sure only has an engine at one end, hence the push/pull description. Once, I took my kids to Romford in it when they were about 6 and 8 and when the driver got on at Romford, we were in the front carriage and he said to my son ”Do you want to drive it?". My son was in the chair like a shot, he could barely reach the pedals. The driver let him drive it from Romford all the way home and he only had to get out of the carriage when we were coming in to the stations in case an inspector was there. He was tooting the whistle like a little Casey Jones and he talked about it for weeks afterwards.

Title of this thread reminds me of the panicked station master in the old St Trinians film complaining that "the up train is coming down the down line and the down train is coming up the up line!!". :giggle:
