Hi folks,
got lots of info on here about this but still confused - sorry !
Firstly - is an AAV another name for a durgo (this is what this tells me - http://www.diydata.com/plumbing/air_admittance_valve/air_admittance_valve.php)
Secondly:
OK, so I already have a perfectly good, boxed-in, soil pipe going through the celing of my upstairs bathroom. Am I correct in saying that the most I can expect to improve on the size of the boxing by using a durgo/aav is that I can reduce the pipe to the height of the sink overflow (85 cm high). I can then box it in to that height and regain the top corner of my bathroom ? Are there any issues with boxing an AAV/Durgo in e.g. lack of air?)
fyi: My house has two bathrooms - one straight soil pipe currently venting to the roof.
many thanks for the clarifications !
John.
