I am putting a new soil pipe externally and want to know does it need to go above the height of the roof with an open vent or can you put a durgo on and not have the pipe going all of the way above the roof height.

A friend of mine told me that he thought durgos were only fitted internally, but this pipe will be fitted externally.

preferabaly I want to stay under the roof height as the pipe is at the front of the house so by putting an external AAv on I would be ok as far as building regs go??

Thanks for any advice

Why would you need an external AAV :?: If you put a bird cage on top it will still let air in.

If its because you are within 3 metres of a window then BCO will not allow anyway. :(
