Yes.

No.I think the real question that should be asked is.............. are teachers to blame for the shambles that has replaced discipline in the educational system.
Yes.
And so did I LMB. BTW, I withdrew the post, not because I was upset by your reply, but because in trying to make a point, I said something that was really quite cruel and that is not what I intended. However, today's the day and thanks to JBR and EFLI, I now have my talk complete with the latter's, "it may have benefitted with a couple of commas but that would not have been technically correct" playing a central role.Like two proud peacocks dueling on a crisp winter dawn. I loved it.
I hadn't realised that teachers voted for the abolition of the cane although, having worked with them, I can well believe it: many, if not most, teachers are lefty-liberals and read the Grauniad.JBR, you're missing the point.
I too was caned. I sat in classrooms that went silent when the teacher walked in.
My point is though, and you know this because we've discussed it before, teachers voted for the abolition of discipline and it came back to bite them on the ass.
The kids that were a direct result of that, then became parents, and then....... We have what we have now.
The teachers aren't blameless.
Never mind a couple of commas; it needs a full stop.Last word in the thread. EFLI, here is your sentence yet again. Let's see you add a "couple of commas" to make its meaning crystal clear:
"I cannot imagine anyone who can spell thinking like that therefore those in charge must not have been bright enough".
Reminds me of a Simpson's quote: "Marriage is like a coffin with each kid being another nail"I was counting down the minutes till Dex broke the locks on his coffin.
It was only a matter of time.
