accelerator problem focus 1.8 tdci

when am moving off or driving slowly and I lift my foot off the accelerator the car tends to increase in speed.

Its a diesel, its suppose to do that. They run on glow plugs so don't worry. I know a petrol car wouldnt do this but the diesel engine runs different.
 
Not 100% sure what you mean there. Do you mean its accelarating when your foot is off the throttle.

As far as I know most if not all focus`s have an electronic throttle (no cable) and they are prone to fail. I havent heard of one failing this before though. They normally fail to safety so they stop accelarating and go back to idle speed.

If it is the pedal at fault then they are around 45 pound.
