My questions are:

1. How do you remove the handles to gain access to the inside?

2. The cold side is on the right as you look at it. Do I undo the inside fitting (called a cartridge I believe) anti-clockwise or clockwise?

3. Are 'cartridges' of a standard size?

Any help would be appreciated.

to remove the handles unscrew the smaller vertical arms then the chrome body should pull off but maybe a cap on the ends you take off and unscrew,
no there are different sizes, take the caps to a shop and ask if they have the same sized spindle that the handles will fit on, good luck

I should have realised that the vertical arms unscrewed.

Thanks for that.

Does the handle on the right as you look at the image undo unscrew anti-clockwise?
