Just taken delivery of 2 Acers which have a yellow lichen/mould on the stem/branches. I have contacted the supplies to ask if this is disease but no response. Any advice? Thanks.

I'm no gardener. My grass could be green concrete for all I care. But that doesn't look right to me. All yellow and scabby. If a company doesn't respond to emails or phone calls then as far as I am concerned they are a bunch of scammers. A couple of things you can do if they don't respond. Go there and bang on their tables. If that has no effect then bin that rubbish, take the hit and go elsewhere.

Lichen shouldn't harm the trees, but both lichen and mould can be removed if you receive no response from the seller. Lichen can be gently removed by hand and will cause no damage, and mold you can use a fungicide or something like soapy water. Putting them in sunshine should help with mould too. Pretty poor sellers though!
