Hi,

Just looking for some advice.

We have a concerete path on the side of our house which you walk to to get to our garden. When heavy rain falls in runs down the path (slight slope) and on to our lawn and makes if even more boggy.

Now was thinking of adding channel/aco drainage to the bottom of this and run it in to the drain which is there for the guttering off our extension.

Now the question is can you tap in to the existing drain that is already there? I took a picture of what the side of the drain looks like. Can this be added to or is something else needed altogether?

Aco supply fittings that can connect successfully onto 110mm plastic pipe-work. You need to determine where the most suitable place is for connecting and not just cobbling in willy nilly.

A decent photo may help. Is that the back inlet of a gully?

Yes looking online it looks like a bottle gully. So cannot just tap into this one. So back to the drawing board

You can connect into a back inlet on a gully yes. Looks like there is an option for a 40mm spigot boss so you may need to bore it out to 100mm.

Ok thanks great.

Can you can an adapter for 100mm to 40mm or do Aco sell one?

And sorry what is ment by bore it out?

It is not a good idea to choke storm drainage down to 40mm.

If the drain inlet needs boring out to 100mm then drill a series of holes and use a pad saw or jig saw to cut it out.

Ah got you, so cut out the gully drain to 100mm or whatever the aco drain outlet size is and feed it directly in.

thanks for the help

The larger of the two spigots visible should give you the exact diameter of a plastic 110mm drain pipe. If you have a small length of pipe try poking it into the spigot for size.
