Hi,

I recently bought my flat with original stripped floorboards, however, the lease requires me to have 'suitable' sound proof covering.

I've always wanted a parquet floor and have already purchased two rooms' worth of wood block parquet (not T&G). I intend to lay ply on the original floorboards and fix the blocks to the ply.

In order to meet the terms of the lease, I would really like to lay an underlay to ensure as much sound proofing as possible. Would anyone have any advice on the best/most cost effective poduct to use.

I am assuming that I should lay any sound proofing between the floorboards and the ply, but I have seen products like Elestilon, which might potentilly be an option?

Any advice would be very welcome!

Thanks....
