We have recently moved into a new home and found that the reason the bathroom extractor fan in the ensuite isn't working because the previous owners had not finished installing it. I have purchased the motor but need to connect it to the outlet pipe. My issue is that the flexi round pipe is 100mm and the extractor vent pipe is 150mm rectangle pipe and I cannot seem to find a joint to fit. Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so how have you got around it?

Incompatible extractors and ducting are difficult to match without a bodge. If searching for an adaptor against the make of extractor and the make of ducting doesn't produce results, I would change the extractor to fit the ducting, more expensive I know but at least it would work as intended, and probably less hassle than the other way round.

As above, buy a 100mm fan, it should be more than adequate for all but the very largest of rooms. If possible, I would also replace the flexi, with smooth bore rigid pipe. Flexi pipes produce a lot of back pressure, to the flow.

You need something like this (but a different size)

An HVAC supplier will have a range.

I haven't encountered that size for many many years, 6" x 2" used to be a size but seemed to fade away during the change metricated sizes.
it's been so long I feel I want you to double check the measurements
