hi,
I've had a search around, but not found the answer.
Is it possible to wire a light off an extractor fan?

The extractor fan is has its own isolator and comes on with the main bathroom light. The extractor is positioned right above where i'd like to have an extra light. So is it possible to simply run a cable out of the extractor to power the light?

cheers

Possibly, why not straight from light? In a bathroom? Notafiable!!!

soounds like a crap idea

Possibly, possibly not - depends on how accessible the shower casing is, and how easy it would be to modify it to have another cable connected.

What sort of cable?

Are you aware of these:Are you sure it's not an ELV shower?

Is the light suitable for the Zone it will be in?

Do you know that this work is probably notifiable?

i just checked out Part P fees. It appears it will cost c. £200 to get it checked.
It'll work out cheaper to get a sparky in.

It will be easiest to wire it from the existing light, or the isolator switch.

But you really need a registered spark to do this for you.
