I have a double circuit with single wiring therefore I assume it is not on the ring main.

I would like to fit a single socket to the wall behind it by wiring from the existing box connections, a distance of about 12 inches.

Is it acceptable to do this and to what extent to I have to be wary of the load on the resultant 3 sockets?

Or possibly it could be a circuit with a single cable at the board so it could be a 20A radial?

OP?

I presume you mean a double socket.

If it only has one cable then you cannot connect another unless you fuse both with a 13A Fused connection Unit.

Last time I said you can't have a spur on a spur I was told I was wrong.

O Winston, get your coat mate, before they come back from the pub !
