Hi, I need some advice about adding some sockets in a bedroom. There are two existing sockets and I am hoping to add two more. Each of the existing sockets has two wires connected to it. I can lift floorboards to access existing cable but am not sure what to connect to what. The job is in my own house for my daughters who are now old enough to have a pc etc. I've looked at this site which is great, but I'm one of those people who understand things better with a diagram. I really hope someone can help me, many thanks in advance Pat

just use surge protected extension leads.. you get the connected equipment insured then as well..

PC and tv/video/games console equipment don't draw large currents so there is no need to install new sockets other that personal preference..

to install the new sockets, take one of the wires out of the old sockets, and run it to the new socket, then run a new piece of cable from the new socket to the old socket, or from new socket to new socket and then to the old socket ( leaving slack at the middle socket to connect to.. )

all this of course after turning the mains power off and checking that the sockets are dead..
