I've just fitted a spur to an existing socket in spur bedroom. However I have had to move the original socket about two foot to the side. In doing this I have had to add more wire. I've added about 4ft of wire so the new socket will connect to the existing circuit. unfortunately I've had to cut into the original wire and add a junction box.

Is what I have done okay or is it putting strain on the rest of the circuit?

Thanks,
Tom

So long as you have maintained the integrity of the ring and all terminations are sound, earth cores sleeved, then there should be no problem.
