whats the best adhesive to use to bond a slate fireplace to the wooden carcus that sits snuggly behind the upright legs. someone suggested 'no more nails" but i didnt think this was specialist enough and i was afraid of the powerful solvent affecting the slate surface..

there are some pretty potent "cartridge" style adhesives on the market at the moment.
used correctly, they will hold back a tonne. i tend to use a product called sticks like s**t.
phenomenal stuff. do a test area and just see how difficult it is to remove an object that has been stuck with this stuff.
