Hi,

Our telephone line has been disconnected as we are moving out on Saturday, ADT advised once telephone line is disconnected alarm will beep once and then enter master code and this will then silence alarm which we did however alarm keeps beeping ever 45 minutes now with same fault. Can anybody assist in how to stop the beeping without powering down the system or calling ADT out i do not wish to pay exorbitante amount of money to ADT?

Thanks Evan

You'll have to call someone, the telephone connection is programmed into your control panel. It's going to do what you say until reprogrammed, (by someone)

PS The alarm has not 'failed' it has had the line disconnected, it is telling you that, it's how alarms work, it's called security.

I am not saying this will work on your alarm but it is worth trying.

Some alarm systems check there is the normal voltage on the phone line and if it finds no voltage it assume line has been cut.

The normal voltage is 50 volts DC from the exchange, if you simulate this it may trick the alarm into thinking the line is intact. Five PP3 ( 9 volt ) batteries connect in series will provide 45 volts which is enough to trick the alarm. It may require a 400 ohm resistor in series ( 470 ohm is also OK )

If the alarm makes a daily check call to the monitoring service then the alarm will report no communication and need reseting but that is probably only once a day.

Evan, it would be easier to reprogram the line voltage check. PM me.
