Looking to try and increase privacy / reduce sound.

I get on well with my neighbours - but their extension (previous owners built it) door looks right down into my garden, plus the kids play TV quite loud - which broadcasts out into my garden. The posts in the photos are 2m, and just basically attached with a corner bracket and a few screws

Question is how best to get the posts secured - should I dig down as much as possible and concrete? (I'm not sure how big/deep any wall foundation are). Or could would brackets screwed into the brick wall be strong enough - or a combination of both?

how good is the wall and how deep are the fondations to that wall, they will be wider than the wall so shoving a post down the side will only go as deep as foundations - garden wall they could be shallow
Then how good is the wall, tie a solid fence to it, a windy night might snap the wall

Thanks @cross thread and @Munroast

So yeah, I'll consider plants too for sure - probably better long term, but a basic fence trellis could work while they're growing

The wall looks good condition - but I'll aim to dig a test hole see how deep it is

if you were lucky and the foundations of the wall was 1½ to 2 foot deep, I would just do the following, no need for concrete, 8 foot post, pressed up against the wall, and a 2 foot square paving side the other side of the post - it would be very sold, a 2 foot square paving slab would not shift sideways through the earth

the dotted line is ground level, red is the wall
