Hi I am new so easy please Ladies and Gents

I am a relatively competent DIYer and I want to remove old bay window roof and replace with lean to roof but want to tie into existing porch roof. All work is obviously a single storey level (approx 9ft highest level) but i am not confident in doing a valley will probably only be a couple of feet long. Is this something i should attempt or leave to a professional.

Any advice would be great

Cheers Colin

I can't help you with your specific question but I can offer some advice on posting here. A lot of us spend a lot of our free time going through these posts to see if we can help people and we do this by looking at the posts title to see something if we know something about it, then we will read the post. I don't have the time to read every post, so something that is not specifically titled i.e. Help / Advice, usually doesn't get read, this has been said many times on here. Not a dig, just advice, put your query in the title. I was just bored tonight and happened to look at yours, wouldn't normally.

You can DIY a valley.

Use lead and plyboard recessed into the rafters to give a flat plane with no tiles kicking up, or buy a GRP fibreglass valley (in 2.4m lengths)

Getting the lath ends flat and straight, and the valley cuts straight is awkward but do-able for DIY.
