Sorry if i sound a bit of a BIF but i have just brought a house and started stripping the wallpaper in the kitchen and living room. the walls are cracked and flakey. Do i require the walls to be replastered or is there something else that can be done? Also how much would you expect to be quoted for two rooms one is 12 foot by 18 foot the other 12 foot by 20? Any help is appreciated.

No posts for you so far so here's a start.
Some pics may help the guys assess the level of damage to the plaster.
A knock with a knuckle can help too.
If it sounds hollow, you're plaster has started to come away from the brick. If it sounds solid, you're probably not too bad.

Get your wiring checked before a re-skim (a periodic inspection report) , it would be a shame to have to chase the walls out after to sort out some dodgy wiring.
