Hi,
I'm having an issue with a Salus tx/rx system and need advice if possible.
I moved into a property with Baxi boiler and Salus 501 thermostat and receiver. See attached pics.
The heating system has worked to an extent for two years now but rather than run permanently on and get to set temperature it will cycle on and off randomly. Say 15 on 5 off 30 on 10 off?? This is all while its five or more degrees away from the set temperature.
At first I assumed this was normal for a combi and with running taps or whatnot it cuts out. Then I noticed that it happens woth zero heat request from hot water.
The boiler has been regularly serviced and no issues.
From all of this over a year I've realised that the thermostat has the flame request on but the boiler is off. I'm positive that the receiver had a green LED but no longer has. This made me think it was the connection between the receiver and thermostat.
I have already tried:
Power cycle.
New batteries.
Reset connection, the receiver LED behaves normally. Red flash then double flash to confirm sync.
Can someone advise if the LED should be green when the thermostat is requesting heat? Also if the boiler should be on until it reaches target temperature rather than on and off?
Is there a fix? I don't want to mess around too much as I have heating and I'm thinking about replacing the Salus with something that isn't a massive pile of poop.
Thanks.
