Advice on flush UPVC on traditional house

Hello all,
I'll be replacing the old timber single glazed windows on my house next year and thought the flush system would look good. I've been reading your older posts on flush UPVC sash windows with interest. There seems to be a preference for R9, but most of the posts are years old now. I was wondering if any other manufacturers have 'caught up' and if you'd recommend differently now?
